Starting on September 12, anyone who is connected with the telecommunications and IT sector in Latin America will be in São Paulo, Brazil, attending that region’s largest tradeshow, Futurecom 2011. More than 15,000 people from over 40 countries are anticipated to go through the show hall and attend the breakout sessions at Futurecom held at the Transamerica Expo Center. TEL-NT, a subsidiary of Telmar Network Technology, will be on hand in booth C41.

In addition to exhibiting at Futurecom 2011, two of TEL-NT’s executives will be making presentations during breakout sessions. Luiz Cláudio Santos Rosa, Country Manager of TEL- NT will participate on the panel “Virtual Operators, New Perspective in Service Delivery: Opportunities and Challenges” which will address regulation of virtual operators, MVNOs and the role of MVNE’s in the delivery of services to Brazilian customers. The panel is scheduled for the second day of Futurecom, September 13 (11.30 a.m. – 12.40 p.m.) at Pavilion C, in the “Inovação” conference room.

Egbert Clarke, Telmar’s Vice President of International Business will be a keynote speaker, presenting on “Revenue Impact of Optimized Networks”. Clarke will address how telecom networks are complex and dynamic assets for service providers, and need to be actively managed to optimize capacity utilization and quality of service. Revenue- and cost-optimized telecoms networks not only ensure operational excellence to remain competitive and to improve profitability, but reduce OPEX costs which typically represent about 55-65% of expenses. His presentation will take place just before Luiz’s panel on September 13 in Pavilion C, “Inovação” conference room from 10:50 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.

FIP Technology Creates Custom Shipping Mold

Packaging and shipping telecom equipment requires a wide assortment of shipping options. More often than not, creating a custom-fitted package is the best way to ensure a safe delivery. In order to continue delivering the highest quality products and services to our customers, Telmar recently installed a new Foam-in-Place (FIP) technology system which features the most cost-effective, time-efficient packaging technology in the industry.

FIP is polyurethane foam that is molded in real-time by combining two liquid foams through a pressurized mixer at a very high temperature.  The mixture expands rapidly around the product being protected, creating a custom, protective shell.

This type of packaging technology is designed to support multiple drops and can be reused by Telmar’s customers, once custom fit.  This is a tremendous advantage for customers who forward or re-ship products that originated from Telmar because they can re-use this packaging with confidence that the equipment will arrive to its destination in good and safe condition.

The overall goal is to ensure that Telmar continues to complete quality deliveries with the highest shipping integrity in the industry.
